Plan Your Trip to Esher

There is an abundance of eateries (and drink-eries) attractions, activities, and places to visit in Esher.

Whether you’re the outdoors-y sort, who’s keen to pull on a pair of boots and be at one with nature. Or you’re a  history buff, a firm foodie, or simply an avid shopper – there’s something for all the family (even the dog) to do during your stay.

Explore Esher

Esher has the best of both worlds. It’s a town-and-country sort of place, and has all the hustle-and-bustle of a town at your fingertips, with the Great Outdoors in abundance too.

If mooching along the High Street is your cup of tea, then you’ve made an excellent choice (well done you) because boutique shops, trendy cafes and a cinema are right on our doorstep.

Cobham Mill

Take a stroll from the High Street to Cobham Mill (a Grade II listed watermill) on the River Mole. It’s a properly pretty place, and perfect for a little outdoors-y exploration.

After falling into disrepair for decades, the mill has been lovingly restored. It even mills corn (upon occasion) and you can pick up a bag of flour from time-to-time.

It’s the last surviving working watermill in Surrey (so, kind of a big deal) and you can visit for free on the second Sunday of the month.

Sandown Race Course

Sandown is a 10-minute walk from our pub – so, we’re very close to the racecourse.

If you’re looking for somewhere to stay after watching horse racing, our pub & rooms is famous for hosting the post-racing after party – and providing a comfy bed to crash into when the night is over.

Hampton Court Palace

A 30 minute bus ride (or a 15 minute drive) away lies a fantastic day out.

Fun for all the family, Hampton Court Palace has incredible gardens (perfect for sunny exploration) along with incredible insight into the life of King Henry VIII and his wives.

Claremont Gardens

This National Trust beauty-spot is well worth a visit. With a beautiful lake, sculptures, plus food & drink facilities, and even a children’s play area, it really has something for everyone.

Dogs are welcome on a short lead at Claremont Landscape Garden all year round – so there’s no need to leave your furry bestie behind.

So there we have it. Some of our favourite things to do when visiting Esher.

Do stop by at the bar after your day of travels, and tell us all about your adventure. Let us know if you think we’ve missed any of the weird-and-wonderful things to do in our neck of the woods.
