Great Young’s Pub

This has always been a good pub but it’s improved recently. It has a nice selection of beers, is fairly comfortable and has a good outside seating area. Pub restaurants are always a bit of a lottery but the food is better than at other pubs I’ve visited- good enough in fact to make me look forward to going back

Hidden Gem!

You will be made to feel welcomed and your custom valued from the moment you walk in and are greeted by friendly and cheerful bar staff, to the moment you leave The Bear. We visited for Sunday lunch as our usual choice of venue was fully booked. How lucky, what a gem, this will now be our first choice in the future. Dinner was lovely, generous portions for mains (we didn’t have any starters although the choices were tempting).

Room was clean and well presented, bed was comfortable and bedding clean. Complimentary bathroom supplies smelt wonderful and the food was exceptional. Breakfast was good. Staff were warm, friendly and very attentive. Would definitely recommend staying at this pub rather than your usual hotel chains

Sunday Lunch

On arriving at The Bear we were greeted by the Manager George and we were made to feel very welcome. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and well presented, we all enjoyed our meal and it was of a very high standard. Really nice atmosphere, a perfect way to spend a Sunday lunchtime.

Can I host a meeting at the Bear Inn?

Oh, yes. We’re set up to host spot-on meetings. Whether it’s a cosy corner for a quick catch up, or a private space for a formal meeting, we’ve got plenty of options for you.

Do you have parking?

We do have a handful of on-site parking spaces, but you are best off parking in the Civic Centre Car Park, KT10 9RA.

What sort of food do you serve?

Our Head Chef Charlie is a clever chap and he loves to whip up extra special party food. From light bites and sharing platters (perfect for those more casual drinks & nibbles parties) to more formal sit-down suppers – we’ll work with you to create a menu to suit the occasion.

What's the biggest number of guests you can seat?

The gorgeous Claremont Wing can seat 50 guests comfortably. It’s also great for up to 70 guests standing.

Do you have bedrooms?
